Colin, Dan and Ron are second and third generation farmers who have grown up on this land and are committed to its preservation, proudly numbering the prairies among the best places in the agricultural world. Farming, they are proud to say, is not simply a job, but a way of life, and one they are all too happy to share.

Natasha Vandenhurk, CEO
Natasha Vandenhurk is CEO and part owner and daughter of one of the farmers. Natasha began her venture at Three Farmers at the age of 24 after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Saskatchewan. She and her team at Three Farmers are focused on creating natural, healthy foods and retailing these foods through health stores and specialty shops across Canada.
Elysia Vandenhurk, COO & Red Seal Chef
Elysia Vandenhurk is COO and part owner of Three Farmers and also a certified Red Seal Chef. She joined her sister at Three Farmers Products after practicing the culinary arts in Toronto under celebrity chef Susur Lee. Elysia’s skills in the kitchen have proven to be invaluable at Three Farmers as they continue to expand their line of natural, healthy foods.
Our Trip to the Den
The deal: The sisters asked for $150,000 in exchange for an 18% equity stake, valuing the company at $833,000. The goal was to create a strategic partnership with a dragon, spread the word about the product and use the money for marketing and distribution. Kevin O’Leary offered the $150,000 but wanted 50% of the business, pointing out that they have a big challenge ahead educating consumers about the benefits of Camelina oil.
